I just recently had a client decide “We’ll just use the D365 Sales in-app marketing capabilities for now.” For them, this means using Marketing Lists and Quick Campaigns for emails. Not because they don’t want to implement D365 Customer Insights-Journeys. They just want to get through their D365 Sales, Field Service and F&O implementations first.

Microsoft announced in Aug 2023 that they will only invest in real-time journeys. Then in Aug 2024, they announced that they would start removing outbound marketing after Jun 30, 2025. To avoid business continuity issues, all customers still using outbound marketing were advised to transition to real-time journeys.

The GOOD NEWS is that when outbound marketing is removed, Marketing Lists aren’t deleted. You can keep using them in real-time journeys! You can even include them in real-time journeys dynamic segments.

Sharing this great D365 Community forum post that walks you through step-by-step Creating Segment Based off Marketing List.
